Dr. Steve K. Windels has been the Wildlife Biologist at Voyageurs National Park (MN) since 2003, giving him tenure over nearly 1/3 of the park’s 45-year existence (and making him feel very old)! In addition to co-leading the Voyageurs Wolf Project, he also directs research and monitoring on a variety of key wildlife species in Voyageurs, including American beavers, muskrats, moose, bald eagles, and common loons. He resides in International Falls with his family, who somehow tolerate the weird stuff a wildlife biologist brings home to put in the freezer. You can follow him on Twitter @TheBeaverDoctor.
