Each week, we feature a worthy citizen science project or nature news segment from around the world. This week, we’re looking up to the sky with Aurora Zoo by the University of Southampton.
The university operates telescopes that look at small parts of the Arctic sky in detail, capturing the smallest shapes in the aurora. You can contribute to the project by watching short video clips and observing/reporting the aurora’s shape, any movement you see, and how fuzzy (or diffuse) the aurora is. The clips are really short, but you can slow them down and look at them frame by frame. Get started HERE.
