Each week, we feature a worthy citizen science project or nature news segment from around the world. This week we’re talking about Dolphin Chat.
You’re probably familiar with the cute whistles and clicks emitted by dolphins, but scientists want to know more: what do they mean? Where are the dolphins traveling to and from? What sounds *can’t* we hear? According to their website, “this project will bring us a little closer to better understanding what information dolphins’ calls could possibly convey.”
Dolphin chat allows you to listen to “broadband recordings that capture ultrasonic components of dolphin sounds and narrow band recordings that capture dolphin sounds that lie within the human-hearing range.” You can start listening HERE!
