Each week, we feature a worthy citizen science project or nature news segment from around the nation. This week’s is Cedar Creek: Eyes on the Wild.
The Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve is a Midwestern US biology field station that encompasses three different biomes: tallgrass prairie, eastern deciduous forest and boreal coniferous forest. As you can imagine, there are several plants and animals in the area, and scientists have set up more than 100 camera traps to keep an eye on its biodiversity. This is where you come in! From the website, you can “help researchers untangle the complex interactions among North American wildlife, from voles and shrews all the way up to coyotes, wolves and bears.”
