This one is for the constellation lovers out there. By helping observe and record light pollution in the night sky, you’re also helping scientists and researchers protect animals who depend on the dark night sky to survive, like sea turtles trying to find the ocean and instead getting confused with city and street lights.
According to their website, Globe at Night is an “international citizen-science campaign to raise public awareness of the impact of light pollution by inviting citizen-scientists to measure & submit their night sky brightness observations.” Follow these six simple steps to get involved.
