Each week, we feature a worthy citizen science project or nature news segment from around the world. iNaturalist is one of the most recognized names in digital, contemporary citizen science and this week we’re featuring their app, Seek.
Seek uses image recognition software to teach you about the world around you. Just explore, snap and identify! You can even earn badges for locating certain plant and animal species and partake in monthly challenges. According to Seek, it’s as easy as these three steps:
- Get outside and point the Seek Camera at living things.
- Identify wildlife, plants, and fungi and learn about the organisms all around you
- Earn badges for observing different types of species and participating in challenges
