Skuas are large sea birds that have a talent for poaching eggs. Go along for the ride as a skua grabs what it thinks is a penguin egg, but is really a hidden ‘spy camera’.
TRANSCRIPT
(skuas squawking) - [Narrator] These are skuas.
Their specialty is stealing eggs.
(dramatic music) (Adelies squawking) Each Adelie has only two eggs, and a year's investment goes into rearing them.
But with skuas on the prowl, one can go in a flash.
(Adelies squawking) (skua squawking) (dramatic music) But not every egg is quite what it seems.
EggCam is about to reveal what it's like to be kidnapped.
(skua squawking) (triumphant music) (Adelies squawking) Realizing it's not the real thing, the skua discards EggCam in disgust.
