In the spring of 2013, my friend’s pine tree served host to this broadtail hummingbird’s nest. The tree sat just outside her back door nestled in the western city limits of Boulder, CO.
I visited each day and fired away on my camera. This turned out to be the lucky shot. Mama at rest, waiting.
