I saw the pair of scissor-tailed flycatchers sitting in a small tree as I drove by, and when I stopped to take a few pictures, I realized that their next was right there in the tree as well. I was able to stand in the bed of my truck to get nearly level with the nest to take pictures, and they didn’t fly away!
